We were immensely proud and delighted that Becketts Farm were crowned “Midlands Family Business of the Year 2012”.  The award, run by the Wilson Organisation, is for family businesses in the Midlands that have been established for over ten years and applies across all sectors of industry.

As a 3rd generation member of A E Beckett & Sons Ltd, and accompanied by my daughter Holly who is now the 4^th generation, I received the award at Leicester on Thursday 8^th November 2012.  At the same time we were runners-up for the Business Innovation trophy.  The judges recognised the challenges we face while farming on the edge of a large conurbation and the measures we have taken to optimise these.  They commented on the “sound financial measures … service excellence … commitment to the local community, along with exemplary family values and a clear vision for the future”.

But these Awards would never have been achieved without our wonderful staff who are loyal, courteous and hardworking and totally accept and reflect Beckett values.

Equally we would never have a business in the first place were it not for our customers.  So we thank you all and consider the honour is shared with all who work and trade with us.
